Mental Health First Aid in the Workplace

This accredited qualification trains delegates to be a Mental Health First Aiders in the workplace, building the knowledge and skills to recognise the signs and symptoms of common workplace mental health challenges. This course is designed to teach how to effectively guide a person towards mental health support and promote positive well-being in the workplace.

·       Understand a range of the most common Mental Health conditions

·       Understand the various sources for support for common mental health conditions

·       Understand how you would listen, be supportive and then signpost to professional support for a person with a common mental health condition

·       Understand the role of the first aider in Mental Health in the Workplace

·       Know how to provide practical support in Mental Health

·       Know the recognition signs of stress and how to manage it

·       Promote confidence to reassure and support a person in distress

·       How to display empathy

·       How to create a Mental Health First Aid kit for your workplace

·       Understand how substance abuse can impact on Mental Health

·       Understand how to put an action plan for Mental Health in place within the workplace

·       Know how to implement a positive culture for Mental Health in the workplace

This is a two day course. Delegates must be 18 or older to attend this course. Please consider whether this course will be suitable for your chosen delegate as this course covers topics that some people may find distressing such as self-harm and suicide.
